In November 2005, Mr Chris Thompson retired from his position as Chairman of Gold Fields.

As a farewell gift, the management of Gold Fields commissioned a book about him, a loose collection of stories and anecdotes as told by his family, friends and colleagues, supplemented by newspaper articles to tell the story of his life and his very distinguished career.

The book is printed on archival paper with a smooth, luxurious finish (from one of the oldest paper mills in France), and beautifully bound in natural leather and wood, with gold foiling and blind embossing and a photograph insert, together with a matching presentation box.
